Hackers Target Bankers' Personal Data as Part of "Occupy Wall Street"
The same group that went targeted information belonging to Goldman Sachs CEO and a New York police officer has struck again. Members of "CabinCr3w" posted personal data belonging to The New York Community Bank's Joseph Ficalora and Kerry Killinger on to Pastebin on Oct. 14. The data dump was in support of protesters at New York's Zuccotti Park for the "Occupy Wall Street" protest, in its 28th day. The bankers had their financial records, addresses, legal issues and business registrations publicized. The data itself appears to be fairly old, but the cyber-protesters are leaking everything they can find. "Every time a protester gets arrested, more bankers will be targeted," CabinCr3w wrote in a note accompanying the dump. Hundreds of people have been camping out as part of "Occupy Wall Street," and more join in each day for protests and marches. Publicized by hacktivist collective Anonymous, the movement began on Sept. 17 and calls for an end to the "monied corruption of our democracy." Originally intended as a peaceful protest, it has been marked by violent clashes between protesters and police. "We stand side by side with our brothers and sisters Occupying the World. They destroyed personal property in #OccupyBoston as the cops dumped the peoples belongings in dump trucks, so we release data," CabinCr3w wrote. |
